Michigan hiring SEC’s Bob Shoop as assistant coach

Jim Harbaugh went down to SEC country to help fill out his coaching staff. Michigan is reportedly hiring former Mississippi State defensive coordinator Bob Shoop to be an assistant coach.

Shoop has been around college football for a while. He had the top scoring defense in the Big Ten when he was the defensive coordinator at Penn State during the 2016 season.

While he was at Mississippi State, he had the top scoring defense in the SEC during the 2018 season.

It’s not been said what he will be doing on the coaching staff yet. Don Brown is still the defensive coordinator on Harbaugh’s staff.
