Not only did LSU’s Joe Burrow win the 85th Heisman Trophy, the QB also set records during the balloting and voting process.
Burrow has led the Tigers to 13-0 and to the #1 playoff seed, but he’s also set ballot records for the Heisman Trophy, getting named to over 95% of the ballots.
The redshirt senior also set records for the highest percentage of points in balloting at 93.8 and highest percentage of first place votes with 90.7
Reuters says that Burrow thanked his offensive line first during the honors and said that his team “welcomed him with open arms…a kid from Ohio coming down to the Bayou. It’s been so awesome.”
