It’s been a tough year for quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions.

The team is currently 3-8-1 this season and Stafford has missed the team’s last four games because of a back injury.

However, Stafford is the running for a special award. He’s now one of eight finalists for the 2019 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.

According to the official site of the NFL, the award was created in 2014 honoring late owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Rooney, Sr.
