The Detroit Tigers haven’t been competitive for a few seasons now. Last year they won just 47 games.
However, in the process of rebuilding they’ve been able to get a lot of money off the books. Detroit is even being tossed around as a team that is interested in a few bigger named free agents.
Addison Russell is one those players. According to Bleacher Report, the Tigers are interested in signing the former Chicago Cub and World Series champion.
Russell does come with some baggage. He was suspended at the end of last season for violating MLB’s domestic violence policy. His numbers have also declined over the past couple of seasons.
However, Russell is still a defensive upgrade to a Tigers team that struggled in that area last season.
Maybe a change of scenery would do Russell some good?
