The Detroit Lions lost another close game on Sunday afternoon. A last-second effort to tie the game was stuffed by the Oakland Raiders on a 4th-and-goal scenario in the final seconds.
The Raiders beat the Lions 31-24.
Many were quick to point out some intriguing aspects of Detroit’s final play call. They came out in a goal line formation and ran play-action with the pass going to their third-string tight end, Logan Thomas.
FOX play-by-play announcer Thom Brennaman almost immediately questioned why the Lions didn’t have their best weapons on the field in such a crucial situation.
Head coach Matt Patricia responded in the postgame press conference.
With the Lions now sitting at 3-4-1 on the season with their playoff hopes looking very slim, where’s your confidence level at with Patricia in year two of his regime?
