Mayfield hits back at reporter, walks off

Baker Mayfield wasn’t thrilled with a line of questioning following the Brown’s 27-13 loss Sunday to the Patriots.

The quarterback was asked if there was a lack of urgency as time was running down on the first half.

“Stop saying ‘but.’ I just told you the clock was running and we had a penalty. You want to give them the back back? No. You don’t play, you don’t know it. That’s just plain and simple,” Mayfield hit back as WKNR radio’s Tony Grossi tried to get in a follow up.

“Was I happy with the drive? No, we didn’t score points. The dumbest question you could ask. What? Jesus!” having none of it, Baker Mayfield then walked off.

Do you think there’s a growing distaste for the media among the sports world? How would you feel if a cadre criticized your job performance week in and week out? Would you fire back?
