Tigers trade rumors: Phillies interested in Matthew Boyd, Shane Greene

This trade deadline is very important for the Detroit Tigers and general manager Al Avila. They have a few players that contending teams are interested in.

The Chicago Cubs have expressed interested in right fielder Nicholas Castellanos. The Washington Nationals have talked with the Tigers about closing pitcher Shane Greene.

According to sources, the Philadelphia Phillies are currently interested in starting pitcher Matthew Boyd and would be a good fit for the left-hander.

“The Phillies have big needs in the starting rotation and at the back end of the bullpen. Sources say the Phils have had conversations with the Tigers about all of their available players, particularly Boyd and Greene. Both are the type of pitcher the Phillies would like to acquire in that they are talented and under contractual control beyond this season. In other words, they are not rentals. Boyd has three years of control after this season and Greene is under control through next season.”

How much do you believe the Tigers could get in return for Boyd? How about Shane Greene?
