The Detroit Red Wings are giving one of their young defensemen another shot to himself.They re-signed Joe Hicketts to a two-year contract.
Yesterday the team announced they would be re-signing him. Hicketts played in 11 games with the Red Wings in 2018-19. He had 27 points in 64 games with Detroit’s AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
The 23-year-old defensemen has no goals and three assists in 16 career NHL games.
Hicketts is part of a group of young defensemen that continue to rotate between the NHL and AHL. He’ll get another crack at it in Detroit this upcoming season.
