Shane Greene named to MLB All Star game

Shane Greene has been one of the lone bright spots for the Detroit Tigers this season.

The closing pitcher has made the most of his opportunities early on this season, capitalizing on 22 saves and posting a 0.87 ERA. He will be the only player from the Detroit Tigers representing in this year’s All-Star game.

It’s hard to say how much longer he will be in a Tigers uniform. When you’re pitching as well as him and performing at that level in high pressure situations, teams contending for a playoff spot treat you like gold.

Another Tiger that could be on the move before the trade deadline is starting pitcher Matt Boyd.

No Tigers players will be starting for the American League in this year’s All Star game in Cleveland.
