On May 22, Juwan Howard was named head coach at the University of Michigan. It was a sigh of relief to many of the players after John Beilein left for the NBA to coach the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Some of the players from the current Michigan basketball roster have publicly displayed their approval for the new head coach.

Andrew Kahn from MLive talked to sophomore Adrien Nuñez about the new man in charge and he believes they hired the right guy.

“You just trust what he says because he’s been in your shoes, at this university. He’s been in a championship culture at the NBA level, a championship culture at the college level. He has two sons that are players so you know he’s definitely going to be for the players.”

Many big names in the NBA also believed he was the right person for the job, including LeBron James.

Howard helped lead the Wolverines to two national championship appearances during his collegiate career. He was also apart of two championship runs with the Miami Heat during his professional career.
