Twenty-five years after he hung up his basketball shoes, one of the best point guards in NBA history is going to be immortalized in the city that made him a star.

Isiah Thomas, a 12-time All Star and two-championship winner, is set to be honored with a statue outside Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, the Pistons revealed Monday. An unveiling date has not yet been determined.

Thomas, who’s now 58, played for the Pistons from 1981 through 1994, averaging 19.2 points per game and ranking eighth in all-time assists with a whopping 9,061. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000.
