Eagles plagued with injuries ahead of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions

Is it time to start believing that the Detroit Lions could actually be undefeated through their first three games of the 2019-2020 season?

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. However, CBS Sports released their week three injury report yesterday with some shocking news about Detroit’s next opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles:

“The Eagles are banged up. On Wednesday, they held a walkthrough. According to the team, if they had held a practice, running back Corey Clement (shoulder), tight end Dallas Goedert (calf), receivers DeSean Jackson (abdomen) and Alshon Jeffery (calf), defensive tackle Tim Jernigan (foot), and backup right tackle Jordan Mailata (back) would not have participated. If they had practiced, defensive end Derek Barnett (shoulder), defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (toe), safeties Johnathan Cyprien (knee) and Rudy Ford (hamstring), and linebackers Nathan Gerry (knee, calf) and Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee) all would’ve been limited. I repeat: The Eagles are banged up.”

The Lions are dealing with injuries as well. According to the report, Jarrad Davis, Taylor Decker, and D’Shawn Hand are all limited participants in practice this week.

The Lions and Eagles kick off on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
