Everyone knows that Michigan State took a giant step back last season. They won just seven games after going 10-3 in 2017.

One of the biggest reasons for this step backward is the play at quarterback.

Brian Lewerke dealt with a shoulder injury that set him back during his junior season. He threw just eight touchdown passes and had 11 interceptions.

During his sophomore season, he had 20 touchdown passes and just seven interceptions.

Lewerke feels right heading into his senior campaign. He told Chris Solari from the Detroit Free Press that he thinks he’s had a solid fall camp to this point:

“My arm feels good. I feel like I can sling the ball around,” the senior said. “And I try and challenge those DBs across from us every day. I try and give the best look I can and make the impossible throw that they can’t defend. And I try to do that each and every day and get the ball to my guys. I feel like I’m having a pretty good camp.”

That has to be a bit relieving if you’re a Spartan fan. Do you think he bounces back this season? He needs to or there will be many more people concerned about what is going on in East Lansing.
