The Detroit Tigers have struggled all season in what everyone knew would be a rebuilding year.
It doesn’t help that the team has been plagued with injuries throughout the year as well. It got a little worse over the weekend too.
Detroit’s young outfielder JaCoby Jones will likely miss the rest of the season after being hit by a pitch and fracturing his wrist against the Kansas City Royals during their weekend series.
The initial timetable for recovery is six weeks, Gardenhire said. Jones is likely out for the year, Gardenhire said.

Jones has made some incredible plays in centerfield this year that could suggest he will be around when this rebuild is done. However, working on his approach at the plate will be a major priority going forward.
