Ortiz Has Third Surgery After Complications

Former Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz had a third surgery earlier this week because of complications from the gunshot wound he suffered last month in the Dominican Republic.

It was announced by David’s wife, Tiffany, and issued out by the Red Sox. Here’s the full statement.

Ortiz had his gallbladder and part of his intestine removed in early June in the Dominican Republic before being lifted to a hospital in Boston by a helicopter sent by the Red Sox where he underwent further operations.

Ortiz helped bring three World Series Championships to Boston.
