Detroit Pistons off-season moves rank in bottom ten of the NBA

There’s been a lot of movement across the NBA through free agency and trades over the past three weeks.

Anthony Davis is now a Laker. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are with the Clippers. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant moved to Brooklyn.

Did I miss anything else? Oh wait, Russell Westbrook is teaming up with his old pal James Harden in Houston.

The Detroit Pistons were rumored to be a team in the running for Westbrook after he requested a trade from Oklahoma City. Even though, they were unable to land the superstar point guard, Detroit made some moves of it’s own.

They added Tim Frazier, Derrick Rose, and Markief Morris to stabilize their bench with better depth than last season.

The Pistons also drafted Sekou Doumbouya with the 15th overall pick, which many experts thought he would have been taken before that.

In a mild off-season for the most part, Grant Hughes from Bleacher Report ranked Detroit 23rd on his list of teams across the league based on their off-season moves. Here’s his explanation:

New additions Derrick Rose, Tony Snell and Markieff Morris bolster the rotation, and No. 15 pick Sekou Doumbouya gives the Pistons a promising young piece. But Detroit will still rise or fall with the health of Blake Griffin.

Though they’re improved after last year’s first-round elimination and didn’t take on any cumbersome long-term money, the Pistons’ outlook appears unchanged from last season: hope to avoid injury and try to sneak into the playoffs.

What are your thoughts on the team’s off-season moves?
