Kevin Durant is on the move this summer. According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski, he will be declining his $31.5 million player option with the Golden State Warriors.
Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant has declined his $31.5M player option and will become an unrestricted free agent, league sources tell ESPN. Durant and his business manager Rich Kleiman are in New York, evaluating free agency options. So far, process has stayed private.

He’s now eligible to sign a max deal with another team, totaling $164 million. It’s also possible for him to make $224 million in a super max contract over five years with the Warriors if he chooses to do so.
However, that just feels very unlikely. There have been many rumors that Durant is going to play with the New York Knicks along with Kyrie Irving.
Durant tore his Achilles tendon in game five of the NBA Finals and will likely miss all of next season.
