103-Year-Old Sprinter Sets Records on The Track with Every Race

She’s 103 years old and just broke a record for her age group by sprinting the 100-meter dash at The National Senior Games in 46 seconds. Sprinter Julia “Hurricane” Hawkins of Louisiana also clocked the 50-meter dash at 21.06 seconds, holding the top spot for her age group. Well, it’s also because she was the only one in her age group who competed.

Hawkins used to be an avid cyclist in her eighties, but after she was the only one competing in cycling events for her age group, her kids suggested she take up running. She says she has no issues with her knees or hips and says keeping busy at home keeps her in shape.
